One of my favorite NBA books was ":07 Seconds or Less by Jack McCallum. A great Q&A from the Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala here with a man who is still close with Mike D'Antoni. They talk fit, Ty Lawson, Danilo Gallinari, Steve Nash, Rajon Rondo and much more. Great read.
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski had Nuggets GM Tim Connelly in California on Tuesday, June 2nd, interviewing Mike D'Antoni. In Woj's piece, he said that Connelly had talked to Malone and could soon have sit-down with him. Stein might just be getting information about the conversation Connelly had with Malone. Seems odd that the Nuggets would conduct two major interviews on the same day and that Woj would not have that information straight away. Proceed with caution.
The 26 year-old Danilo Gallinari told Italian reporters that he plans to play 8-9 more seasons in the NBA. We won't know if that would be true until it happens, as Nene said once gave himself an NBA timetable. But if Gallo does follow suit, he'll be around 35 years old.
The excellent Jonathan Givony at DraftExpress has updated his mock draft. Emmanuel Mudiay falls to no. 6 to the Kings, and Mario Hezonja is there for the Nuggets at no. 7. Check out the latest movers and shakers.
In the link provided there is video of Kentucky guard Devin Booker saying he's heading to Oklahoma City, then Denver. Also in the link, Paul Coro lays out that point guard Jerian Grant (a mid-first round pick prospect) will also workout for the Nuggets. Denver has yet to release their next crop of workouts.
Nate Timmons joined Sam Vecenie and Bryan Gibberman for The Amateur Hour's NBA Mock Draft. We go through the Nuggets roster, talk about fits for the team in the upcoming 2015 NBA draft on June 25th, and I make my pick for the Nuggets.
Adam Mares had a little fun with photoshop and created a powder blue skyline for Kenneth Faried. What do you think of them?
Eric Yearian over at NBADraft.net provides some insightful writing detailing what teams in the NW Division need from the upcoming draft.
Marc Berman of the NY Post is proposing trade ideas for the fourth overall pick, and his guesses on trades includes an interesting one for the Knicks and Nuggets.
From Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports: "Former Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks plans to pass on interview chances with the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans and appears inclined to sit out the 2015-16 season, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Brooks, 49, wants to coach again but plans to take the year to look at television opportunities and reconnect with his family living in California, sources said."
