I'm watching Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov's press conference LIVE on NBATV right now. Prokhorov has CANCELED the proposed in-Denver meeting between Nets officials and Carmelo Anthony. Watch for yourself here.
For my latest SBNation.com column, I note that NBA owners need to get their house in order before hammering the players on salaries. But this will require real leadership from the owner ranks.
Says the Nuggets have rebuffed anybody calling about players other than Melo, that is until he's traded. I'm just wondering what the Mavs would offer. If they were willing to give up Haywood do you do it?
Last I looked, he was hating on Kroenke, the Nugs and the NBA for the Melo situation. Now he's hating on the Nets and on Melo a bit. Next week: LOL @ the NY Knicks?
In place of last year's bowling event, the Nuggets are throwing a party at Denver's Big Game sports bar tomorrow night with the proceeds supporting youth recreation programs throughout Colorado. No word if Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z will be in attendance, but I will be there as will many Nugget players. Additionally, Mile High Sports Radio's "Elephants in the Room" will be broadcasting live from the event.
Pretty good little interview here from ESPN. "Ultimate dream" to go back home.
Kelly Dwyer doesn't really like it, but picks Nene as the should-be Western Conference All-Star starting center.
