Juwan Howard set to sign with Charlotte

1

It looks like Juwan Howard is not going to sit around hoping the Nuggets will find a way to get under the luxury tax level and resign him. I cannot say that I blame him either although if Charlotte is your best option it might be worth waiting a little longer.

You know, I would perhaps be mildly impressed and entertained by JR Smith’s preening and prancing and "look at me" crap after he makes a shot if he’d done anything of any consequence at all in his career. Really, you’ve got to earn the right to look like an ass; he hasn’t. The story this week that he and George Karl aren’t talking makes me feel a bit better about George.

Knicks trade Randolph to Clippers and Crawford to the Warriors

1

These deals makes the west a little tougher, but I do not think Crawford is a good fit in Golden State with all the perimeter firepower they already have. The Clippers will be better, but I am not sold that this makes them a playoff team. The main stream media will tell you these deals will make it tougher for Denver to make the playoffs. I am here to tell you do not fret. Denver will be in the playoffs. The real story here is the Knicks are potentially in position to sign two major free agents in the summer of 2010. LBJ and Wade together? You know that is what Knicks fans will be expecting.

George Karl Speaks Out About Cancer

+

Henry Abbot over at TrueHoop has posted this story about a fund raiser for St. Jude's Hospital that took place during the Vegas Summer League. George Karl was in town to watch Coby play in the Vegas Summer League. He was invited to the event at the last minute and ended up speaking about how cancer has impacted his life. It is a very interesting read and gives a little insight into the struggles of finding out you or someone close to you has cancer.

Voting Has Begun

1

So voting for the 2009 Popularity Contest All-Star Game has officially started. Since a Fanshot doesn't have to be 75 word (no really, that wasn't directed towards anyone) I thought I'd post this. I don't know about you guys, but I love voting for random player who probably wont make it. Except in the West of course.

In case you have not seen it yet, here is a video explaining why Melo cut his hair. The lesson, is stick with your instincts when a dude named Munch claims you are scared. Thanks to both BallerBlogger and Ryan from HoopsAddict for the heads up.

Blazer's Edge Interview with Brandon Roy

+

In case you missed it Thursday night Portland and Houston had an amazing finish as there were eight points scored in the final couple of seconds of OT. Brandon Roy won the game on a 30 foot heave with 0.8 seconds left. (Watch the amazing game winner here.) Ben at Blazer's Edge has a great interview with Roy after the game.
