Two years ago, during preparation for Team USA basketball, Paul George had one of the more gruesome basketball injuries I've ever seen. He crashed into the stanchion under the basket and snapped his lower leg. At the time, I honestly felt it could be a career threatening injury. I was wrong. Not only is PG playing for the Pacers, he is again leading the team and playing at close to, if not better than, his pre-injury all star level.
That didn't help Indiana in their first face off against the Nuggets, as Denver won a track meet game that hearkened back to the days when Doug Moe roamed the McNichols Arena sidelines. The final score of 129-126 doesn't fully capture the complete disregard for defense that both teams had that night. I expect to see a different type of game tonight. Even though both coaches preach running off of defense, I expect to see both teams much more focused on that side of the ball. The game may still see both teams break the century mark, but don't expect to see another ABA score.
