Nuggets trade Andre Miller to Wizards in three-team deal, get Jan Vesely back

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Nuggets will send point guard Andre Miller, who is owed $5 million this season and $4.6 million next season ($2 million guaranteed) and a future 2nd Round pick (to Philly) to the Washington Wizards in exchange for power forward Jan Vesely and his $3.3 million expiring deal. Also involved in the trade is point guard Eric Maynor, who will head to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a three-team deal and the Sixers will get second round picks from both Denver and Washington, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Here is the trade:

The Nuggets have been trying to trade Miller for weeks and have finally found a trade partner at the deadline. This move does not create a roster spot for Denver to sign a point guard, so be on the lookout for another deal today involving the Nuggets.

Vesely is a 7' and 240 pound forward and just 23 years old. He was considered a bust in Washington after being the 6th pick of the 2011 NBA draft. He is averaging just 14 minutes this season and 3.2 points and 3.4 rebounds.

This is the deal, well sort of, that I figured the Nuggets would make and one I wrote about this week. I thought maybe Jordan Hamilton would be involved and the Nuggets would take back Chris Singleton too, but the Nuggets get an expiring deal here, period.

The Nuggets have escaped from the deal Miller signed with the Nuggets just last off-season. Let's see what else the Nuggets do today.
