It’s pretty clear at this point that the Nuggs need some help, perimeter defense, three point shooting and bench scoring. Gary Harris and Will Barton aren’t going to get it done, lamentably. Rumors have been circulating that Houston Rockets SG could be available. He’s a former first team All Defensive player who can slash and score like Barton, a perfect complement to Murray in the back court. He’s got one year left on his current contract and will be playing for a new deal. If healthy a player of his caliber could put the Nuggets over the top. Another player who is very available at the 2 is Sacramento’s Buddy Hield. Hield is out of the regular rotation bc of clashes with Coach Luke Walton. Imagine Hield and Morris off the bench in the backcourt, or subbing for Murray or Oladipo in the starting unit if someone is injured. Hield is a career 41% 3pt shooter. You could move some assets around and throw in a pick or two, but I think the trade below gets it done, especially if Hield and Oladipo are on board. If anything it couldn’t be worse than our current starting 2 guard situation. Any thoughts? Would this trade put us over the top? Anybody got a better idea?
