According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the NBA is targeting a December 22 return with the hopes of ending the season before the ‘21 Summer Olympics.
The NBA is targeting Dec. 22 for the start of the 2020-21 season and a 72-game campaign that finishes before the ‘21 Olympics, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

A potential 72-game season could help the NBA finish the season earlier — considering it’s starting much later than usual — in hopes of allowing players to compete for their respective national teams at the Summer Olympics in Japan.
Charania also reports the NBA and it’s team would prefer in-market play as opposed to the bubble we saw in Orlando, Florida to close out the season. The issue with playing in-market is fans and attendance, which Charania reports could be handled by fans getting tested before they enter the building as well as better air purifiers in the arenas.
What do you think Nuggets fans? Is this a good idea for the NBA to start in just over two months or should they wait it out a little longer?
