The Denver Nuggets have announced that forward Juancho Hernangomez underwent a successful surgery to repair an injured core muscle by Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia. The news was released Thursday morning, with no word on when the surgery itself took place.
It was a rough year for Juancho. Despite emerging as everyone’s favorite teammate and earning standing ovations from the fans during garbage time appearances, Hernangomez had bigger and better things in mind for 2018-19. He entered the season as a part of the rotation, but as the season went on he appeared to lose his rhythm, and his minutes were slowly reallocated.
Juancho Hernangomez played 434 minutes in November, 397 minutes in December, and 434 combined minutes in January-April.

Hernangomez is a capable shooter and proper floor spacer. There are deficiencies on the defensive end, but this is a player who can still help his basketball team win games when healthy.
With a successful surgery in his rearview mirror, Hernangomez can begin working towards redemption in the 2019-20 campaign.
