Highlights: Nikola Jokic puts cherry on top of exceptional postseason debut

Big Honey does it to ‘em one last time, Nuggets advance

NBA: Playoffs-San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Both the doubters and haters waited a long time for this series. We waited to see how Denver’s transcendent regular season star, Nikola Jokic, would hold up in the NBA playoffs. Something tells me we won’t be hearing much from the doubters over these next 48 hours.

On Saturday night, Jokic put the finishing touches on a remarkable debut. It was Jokic’s least efficient game of the series from the floor, shooting just 9-for-26 from the field. But he finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 steal. Most of those misses came in the fourth quarter, during which Jokic appeared to be exhausted — he logged 42 minutes in the must-win game. But for the first three quarters he carried them as he did all series long.
