Watch Nikola Jokic drop 39 points on the Charlotte Hornets

Joker wasn’t gun shy tonight

NBA: Charlotte Hornets at Denver Nuggets Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

I watched listened to tonight’s game from a booth outside of section 126 at Pepsi Center today. I could hear the cheers coming from the arena bowl and, when I would really squint, I could see a TV playing the game about 100 feet away. But I’m not complaining. It was our charity event tonight, and you, our loyal readers, helped send 500 kids and families who have been battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses to watch Nikola Jokic trounce the Charlotte Hornets.

I’m guessing he made a few new fans.

Joker felt like scoring tonight so scoring he did. And he wasn’t gun shy. He finished with 39 points, two off of his career-high. Most notably, he shot the ball 29 times, four more than his previous career-high attempts in a game. He was a bit off in the first half but he caught fire in the second half, making 10 of 13 attempts and putting the game away with a flurry of baskets once he checked into the game halfway through the 4th quarter.

Check out the full highlights and bask in the glory of being 26-11 and atop the western conference standings.
