Matt Moore (@HPbasketball) is one of the more widely read writers in the industry, and he’s helped make a name for himself by driving the conversation on NBA Twitter daily. In episode two of Full Court Press, he was kind enough to sit down with me for a wide-ranging conversation centered around his evolution as a writer and the industry itself.
From the inception of HPbasketball, to his years working with CBS, and now his gig with Action Network, Matt has worked in a variety of environments and he’s watched the NBA blogosphere grow from a niche community to the cultural juggernaut it is today.
The conversation starts with the question of Matt’s status as an OG blogger and influencer, which he deflects, and takes several twists and turns as he walks us through his path from a commenter on blogs, to a blogger himself, and eventually, a full time staff writer with Action Network. As is the goal with FCP, we touch on some personal notes as well, like the challenges of chasing this dream as a father and a husband.
