Analysis:
1st half- Gallo scores from the post, and one. Would love to see much, much more of this. Nuggets have a non depleted roster available, for the first time since Hector was a pup. Lawson appears to have shed some lbs. Good to see. Gallo looks fresh. McLemore getting pwned (not to be confused with McLemore getting Pawned, poppin' tags & what not. God that was a bad one Rasmussen), by all Nuggets he "defends." 2nd unit + Gallo in at 4 minute mark, up 2. Interestingly, Murray, not Mudiay is running the point. The back must still be a concern. Skal, is much better than the original Skal, Brian "The White Mamba" Scalabrine. Chandler picks up his 2nd foul. Believe it or not, Sac has some pretty decent young talent on their roster. Nuggets down 29-26 after 1. 2nd unit is taking terrible shots. Gallo still in, in his return from a groin injury. Come on Malone. Nuggets getting more hockey assists than usual tonight. Hield is en fuego. Ally looking smashing as always, in her red dress, speaking from the nosebleed seats. Gallo FINALLY sits at 8:30 mark, as all starters plus Chandler/Barton enter. Nuggets have thus far played a 9 deep rotation, and all players have scored aside from Murray. Semi-surprising given that I predicted he'd have momentum from his all star mvp performance in the rookie/sophomore game, but then again, not all that surprising, as I started him in my fantasy league tonight. W.C.S. looks to be a hell of a defender, and has clearly been working on his offensive game. Sac pulling away, up 15 with 4 to go in the half. Barton is hurting us tonight. Very out of control. Gallo returns to the court at 3:40 mark. Harris is thus far, invisible. W.C.S. is feasting on Plumlee and Jokic. Miss you Juka! Incidentally he had another excellent performance tonight, his first as a starter, with 12-12-5, 3 steals and 2 blocks, in a PDX victory. Faried, with his 2nd foul. Nothing is working for the listless Nuggets tonight. We should be running Iso with Gallo, who is drawing a lot of fouls. It's been our only offense really. Turnovers and poor shot selection are the story of the first half, which draws to an end, 61-44 Sac.
2nd half- I'm no fan of these late, west coast games. Something about cicadas with rhythm, but absolutely zero harmony; really "bugs" me. Nori is uncharacteristically somber in his half time interview, with good reason. Nuggets seem terrified of having their shots blocked. Harris has been heating up ever since I called him invisible. Jokic has thus far been invisible. Beautiful offensive rebound/water polo put back by Jokic. Nuggets finally getting some momentum, and have cut the lead to 12 with 6 to go in the 3rd. McLemore picks up his 4th, but that's not necessarily good for the Nuggets. Chandler picks up his 3rd foul. Nuggets definitely not getting the benefit of the whistle tonight. Jokic has two silly fouls in the 3rd, and now has 3 overall. I've inexplicably got the horrendous song "Razor's Edge", by A.C.D.C. stuck in my head. Boogie Cousins with a Kirilenko-like stat line, in his debut with the Pelicans tonight. Most of the bench checks in at the 1:30 mark down 15. We may need Murray to catch fire, in order to have any prayer tonight, of victory. 3rd qtr ends with a score of 87-70, Sac. Hell, it's worth a try, so why not. All Nuggets players are invisible. You'd think they would be very hard to defend with this super power, but thus far, not so. 2nd unit is picking up the d a bit. Chandler starting to pick it up on both ends. Nuggets over all meanwhile, are picking up so many ticky-tack fouls tonight. They could really use a pick me up of some sort. Nuggets cut it to 13 with 9 to play. Murray has still not scored. He simply does not have it tonight. Sac quickly expands the lead back to 18, and it's clear that we need to insert the starters after the commercial break. Of course Malone disagrees. Chandler has quietly picked up a 2d. Jokic and Gallo are FINALLY inserted a full 2 minutes of game time later, with 6:20 to go. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it would be wise to insert Jameer for Murray at this point. Murray is facilitating rather well and playing very good d, I'll give him that much. Barton finally getting going. Nuggets down 14 with 5 to go. All 4 bench players for Sac, who have played, are in double figures, lead by W.C.S. with an impressive and efficient 25 & 10. All starters + Barton are now in, with Faried still on the bench. Jameer is playing one of his better games, with a +11 TPM, on a night when most Nuggets are in the negative. Jameer is allowing Ty to run about 30 seconds of clock on an inbound, staring blankly at him before finally, and inexplicably fouling him. Rookie stuff right there. A clear indication of a player who is afraid of being blown by. Jokic goes out at 2 minute mark, and this one appears to be over. Such a disappointing loss, in this text book trap game. Mike "The Human White Flag" Miller checks in, confirming that the loss is nigh. That's a wrap. Sac wins this one 116-100
Final Thoughts- Until I'm told otherwise, Kate Upton's cat-daddy victory gif, of three seasons ago on Stiffs, will be making it's triumphant return, given that this is not a game thread, but Adam, if you want me to stop, please say the word and I will. Too bad there is little to celebrate tonight, but hopefully this reminder can cheer some of us up.
