Why The Nuggets Need To Go All In For Jimmy Butler

This year at the trade deadline, Tim Connelly has finally gathered enough assets to pull of a huge trade that could turn the franchise around in an instant. I believe that this trade needs to be for the Bulls All-Star shooting guard Jimmy Butler.

Just to put this trade into perspective the Nuggets have plenty of young talent to trade to the Bulls,First off, Mudiay has been a bit of a letdown due to his poor turnover ratios and shooting, Jusuf Nurkic has been solid since being drafted but has continuously shown that he cannot work with Jokic when they are on the floor at the same time. In fact the Nuggets efficiency dramatically decreases whenever they are both on the floor. And lastly, the asset that could make this deal more worthwile for the Bulls, and that is adding rookie Jamal Murray to the package. All three of these players still have potential to grow into solid players for the Bulls in the future and they give them a young backcourt to build the team on and a solid frontcourt player to be a placeholder before they find a more suitable replacement. The Nuggets also have a plethora of picks to unload to the Bulls.

Here's how I assume the deal will work out

Nuggets Trade: Kenneth Faried, Jamal Murray, Emmanuel Mudiay, Jusuf Nurkic, 2017 unprotected first round pick and two 2017 second round picks (via Memphis and OKC)

Bulls Trade: Jimmy Butler, Michael Carter-Williams, Robin Lopez and Isaiah Cannan.

Both teams have plenty of cap space to absorb the contracts.

And by doing this trade the Bulls are setting themselves up for the future by stocking their team with more young talents like Mudiay and Murray as well as clearing up some cap room to allow them to attract free agents to join the Windy City.

And in return the Nuggets get a solid and cheap backup center in Robin Lopez, as well as two young point guards that I think still have room to grow. The Nuggets are also able to solve the logjam they have at center and shooting guard which has forced many young and unproven first round draft picks such as Malik Beasley, to play very little minutes per game. The problem with Nurkic and Jokic will also be solved as Jokic will now be the sole starting center and won't have to deal with the off the court baggage that Nurkic carried with him. And the best asset the Nuggets get from a trade like this is a perennial superstar to team with Jokic to create what I think will be one of the most dangerous 1-2 punches in the NBA. And keeping solid role players like Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris will only add experience and talent to the mix and will set up the Nuggets to make some noise in this year's Western Conference Playoffs.

And on top of all that, I think that Jimmy Butler would have no problem fitting in with the Mile High City.
