Per Shams Charania of The Vertical, the Denver Nuggets are reportedly going to sign point guard Nate Wolters to a contract.
Free agent Nate Wolters has agreed to a deal with the Denver Nuggets, league sources tell The Vertical. Wolters was 38th pick in 2013 draft.

No word from Shams as to the length and guarantees of the contract but in all practicality the guarantees are going to be slim to none and the length irrelevant as Wolters will be hard pressed to make the roster come opening night. This isn't a knock on him, its merely just the fact that the Nuggets roster is already full with 15 guaranteed contracts. What Wolters will provide is extra point guard depth for training camp and the preseason which should help to keep veteran Jameer Nelson fresh.
Wolters was a player who got thrust into the starting lineup far quicker than he should. In fact, the 2013 second round pick started opening night for the Milwaukee Bucks that season because they were desperate because of injury. While he put up respectable numbers given his talent in his rookie season, he would ultimately not last through his second year with the bucks. He has since bounced from the D-League to Turkey but now will spend training camp and the preseason with the Nuggets.
Chances of him making the team are virtually nothign of course. However, if Nelson or Emmanuel Mudiay were to go down with an injury that required them to miss extendded time then there's a possibility Wolters could make the team. Even then though, it's likely the Nuggets could find someone better if they had plans of actually retaining them. All in all, Wolters is most likely just another camp body to help prepare the team for the upcoming season
