Just days after yet another disappointing lottery that saw Denver once again not move up in the draft order, the Nuggets are getting down to business in evaluating potential draft picks. On Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 the Nuggets will host 12 prospects in the first pre-draft workouts of the draft season:

Friday, May 20

Anthony "Cat" Barber – North Carolina State guard

Isaiah Cousins – Oklahoma guard

Nikola Jovanovic – USC forward-center

Alec Peters – Valparaiso forward

Josh Scott – Colorado center-forward

Pascal Siakam – New Mexico State forward

Saturday, May 21

Ron Baker – Wichita State guard

Dillon Brooks – Oregon forward-guard

Robert Carter – Maryland forward

Tyler Dorsey – Oregon guard

Marcus Georges-Hunt – Georgia Tech guard

Shawn Long – Louisiana-Lafayette forward

Most of these players are potential late first-round or second-round picks so it would be hard to see Denver using any of their three first rounders on them. Some of them are very intriguing, however, and could develop well in the Nuggets system.

Nikola Jovanovic from USC has played for the Serbian National Team at the World University Games and would fit in well with fellow Serbian Nikola Jokic and the Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic. The Nuggets already have Nikola Radicevic, also from Serbia, as a draft stash from the second round in 2015.

Josh Scott, a Colorado native, could also be someone to look out for. He was one of the most productive big men in CU history, finishing second in blocked shots (162) and third in rebounds (974). In 2015-16, Scott averaged 16.1 points and 8.8 rebounds to help the Buffs reach the NCAA tournament again after missing out in 2015.

The Nuggets have five draft picks in the 2016 draft, including the 7th, 15th, and 19th overall picks in the first round and two in the back half of the second round.
