Why are the Nuggets so quiet in free agency?

Forgive me. I don't follow the Nuggets and the NBA as thoroughly as I do the Broncos or Avalanche and the NFL and NHL as a whole. I'm very aware of what the Nuggets are doing, but don't go into extreme detail to find out what sort of moves they might make or any of the offseason details that factor into the team's style, or general play the coming season.

So why is Denver so inactive in this free agency? I can't figure out how a great team like the Spurs, who already have high-priced players in Duncan, Parker, and Manu, can manage to make all the moves they have thus far... while at the same time, the Nuggets who don't have any real superstar talent on the team have only made free agency news in... uh, resigning Darell Arthur. With all due respect to Arthur, he's not going to make the Nuggets a playoff team again, whether we sign him or not. I know the biggest story in league circles with Denver this summer is whether or not Lawson will be traded, and if so where, and for whom.

But that doesn't seem to me like it's such a big deal that it's going to keep the Nuggets from signing anybody that can make a difference. This isn't like last year when there were murmurs that the Nugs were pushing for Kevin Love or Mike Miller. There has been absolutely no talk of Denver signing anybody. So could somebody please explain to me why this is?

Thank you and go Nuggets.
