Recently, The rumors out in media say that the Nuggets would try to trade Ty Lawson to the Kings for their 6th pick. While it would be nice to get a higher pick than the team has now, it would also be good to a pick just after as well. The Nuggets current assets would be more capable of getting that right now.
The Pistons are a team who haven't made the playoffs since 2009 and Stan Van Gundy would likely prefer a veteran to help get them there. Wilson Chandler fills their main need of a starting small forward and Kenneth Faried would be useful in Detroit as well. The trade may even ease the loss of Greg Monroe.
Another team that seems to be open to a trade is the Charlotte Hornets at 9. They're a team that's desperate for shooting. Chandler would once again make sense here along with one of the teams best shooters the past 2 seasons Randy Foye. The Nuggets lack a rim protector or front court depth to make a deal more desirable for the Hornets.
Following them are Miami and Indiana with picks 10 and 11.Denver looks to have better pieces for those two teams. Both teams could be looking for a point guard. This would be a slight letdown for Nuggets fans if Lawson is unable to yield a pick higher than 10 or 11. Miami has a clear need for wing players and front court depth which Denver can provide. The Pacers really need to inject athleticism into their front court and there's not many guys better for that role than Kenneth Faried. Nuggets have a better chance of swinging a deal for one of these picks with their aassets
