First time poster, lifelong Nuggets fan. I have trying to figure out what is taking so long in naming a coach for Nuggets, and the only reasonable explanation ( I sure hope Josh isn't such a cheapskate that he hasn't announced Hunt yet simply to capitalize on not having to pay him a head coach salary for a few more months...ala the Sports Show) is that they don't know yet if they will indeed have to rebuild.

if Denver names Hunt the coach, it means that they are trading Lawson/Faried/Chandler for picks. If they name D'antoni or someone else more established, it means that they are trading Lawson/Faried/Chandler for a star. I think they haven't named a coach yet because they are in serious talks to get a star. Mike Malone is such a weird choice to interview that it makes me think they are trying to get Cousins. Also, players like Bosh, Love, David Lee, Aldridge (in a sign and trade) might be on the table. I think if the Nuggets knew they were rebuilding, they would have already hired their coach (Hunt), but seeing as how they haven't named a coach yet, I think they believe they have a chance to land a star, and that's why they are waiting.

To be honest, I'm not sure which route I prefer, but I think we will know it as soon as the coach is named.
