D'Alessandro was the Nuggets assistant general manager in Denver under GM Masai Ujiri. There had been a power struggle in Sacramento between D'Alessandro and the powers that be in SacTown, most notably with the departure of close friend Chris Mullen and the addition of Kings legend Vlade Divac.
We'll see if further details come out on what Pete's job will be with both the Nuggets and Avalanche. It sounds like Nuggets current GM Tim Connelly will be staying put, which is a good thing, and that Pete will be an additional hand in operations for both the Nuggets and Avs.
