Can the Nuggets get back on track against the Hornets?

After a humiliating 30 point smashing at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies, the brief feelings of goodwill the team generated after snapping a 7 game skid against the New Orleans Pelicans evaporated. Both Brian Shaw and Jameer Nelson had strong words after the game.

What kind of a Nuggets team are we going to see tonight? One featuring a confident wrecking crew in Jusuf Nurkic and Kenneth Faried, or the wrecked crew that we saw on display against the Memphis Grizzlies?

After a brutal stretch of 9 games in 14 nights, the Nuggets finally will get a bit of a break in a tough schedule and take on a Charlotte Hornets team lacking the services of point guard Kemba Walker in the friendly confines of the Pepsi center. It's also likely that we'll see Jusuf Nurkic match up against Al Jefferson in the post in what should be an entertaining big man battle.

Can the team score more than 70 points? Aside from the loss to the Grizzlies on Thursday, The last time the team scored less than 70 points was in a loss to the eternal Spurs on April 14th, 2004.

JaVale McGee is also like to get some extended burn tonight as he slowly returns from the injury that's kept him sidelined most of the season. McGee can still contribute to this squad over the last half of the season and work himself into NBA playing shape again.
