A community driven mock draft

Ladies and Gents,

If you're seeing this, your team, or the team you'll likely be picking for come summer, is in the bottom third of the NBA. There are a lot of Big Boards being thrown around in NBA blog communities right now, but there is, I think, very little in the way of an accurate mock draft. Some NBA scribes have attempted one this early, notably Chad Ford of ESPN insider and the folks at Bleacher Report.

I, for one, am usually skeptical of any national level sports writer trying to figure out how "my" team is going to draft. With that thought, I'm proposing a community effort. I'm posting this at the SBNation sites for the teams that have the 8 worst records in the NBA (excluding the Knicks and including the Nuggets, per the Melo deal).

Give me your personal top 8 Big Board for "your" team. Use whatever methodology you want (BPA, need, some voodo combination of both) just pretend to be "your" team's GM on draft day. I will assign points for each of your rankings (8 points for first, 7 for second, etc...) and combine all of the big boards for "your" team to compile one magical big board for each team.

I will then post a mock draft, based off of these big boards, and each team's current position in the standings. With the mock, I'll post the magical big boards for each team polled, so you can see what the other side is thinking right now, just before March Madness. If there's a decent response to this, I'd be happy to repeat the exercise after the draft lottery.

What's that you say? You don't really know who 8 players ARE in the upcoming draft? You're in luck. I've posted a draft prospect primer at Orlando Pinstriped Post (my home site) where you can get an idea of what the internet thinks of the talent this year.

When it comes down to it, we're basketball fans, and we feel that a lottery pick is at least as important as a presidential election. Do your duty as a fan! Be informed! Post your Big Board!

Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.
