Denver Nuggets trade Jordan Hamilton to the Houston Rockets for Aaron Brooks

The Nuggets have pulled off another trade.

The Denver Nuggets have traded guard/forward Jordan Hamilton to the Houston Rockets in exchange for point guard Aaron Brooks. Brooks has an expiring contract that is paying him just $884,293. He has appeared in 43 games for the Rockets and is averaging 7 points and just 1.9 assists in 16.7 minutes per game.

Here is the trade:

Brooks is 29 years old and has his best playing days behind him, but he will be a serviceable guard that will allow Randy Foye and Evan Fournier to not have to run so much point while Ty Lawson heals from his rip injury. During the 2009-10 season, Brooks averaged 19.6 points per game for the Rockets, but again, his best days are behind him. Still a capable guard that will help the Nuggets right now.

Hamilton is just 23 years-old and couldn't seem to find consistent minutes with the Nuggets. He rarely played under Karl, and this season was averaging close to 20 minutes a night before January rolled around. Hamilton fell out of favor in January and recorded eight Did Not Play - Coach's Decisions, but found himself back in the rotation in February - perhaps to show off for a trade.

Jordan was averaging roughly 35% from the outside this season, good for sixth on the Nuggets team.
