2013 NBA Free Agency: Kyle Korver, other shooters find homes

Like any good fantasy draft, NBA free agency is not exempt from runs.

USA TODAY Sports

Every year I get excited about my NFL fantasy draft. The excitement of the draft is really the apex of my season. And during those drafts there is always a run or two on positions for players, whether it be running backs or quarterbacks. Today's NBA free agent signings saw a run made on shooters.

The Kyle Korver signing is the most recent of the evening and an interesting one for Nuggets fans. In a radio interview, with Renaud Notaro and Travis Heath on Mile High Sports, Nuggets' GM Tim Connelly said the team reached out to the representatives to multiple shooters that Heath mentioned. A couple of those names? J.J. Redick and Korver. Both guys signed for more money that the Nuggets could have offered them under the salary cap rules.

Denver has the MLE of $5.1 million and the bi-annual exception of $2.6 million to spend on free agents. They could also do a sign-and-trade - which is how Redick got to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Nuggets must now turn to other shooting options like Carlos Delfino, Marco Belinelli, Chris Copeland, and others.

Connelly also said in his interview that the team came to a consensus on keeping Timofey Mozgov over Kosta Koufos. Heath discussed, at length, after the interview that the Nuggets must believe in Mozgov as they are looking to sign him to a multiple year deal. Heath also stressed how Kosta Koufos was ineffective in the post-season and that he liked the addition of Darrell Arthur. But, both Heath and Connelly talked about the Nuggets still looking to add shooting (which Connelly said the Nuggets would address) and defensive rebounding. It would seem the team traded away some good rebounding in Koufos who averaged 4.3 defensive boards for the team last season.

What names that are still out there do you want to see the Nuggets add?
