Nuggets pursuing Nate Rob?

ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Nuggets are pursuing free agent point guard Nate Robinson.

Verrrrrrrrry interesting.

With the Nuggets already fielding Ty Lawson, Andre Miller and Randy Foye, this is definitely surprising news.

While the dynamic guard Nate Robinson averaged 13.1 PPG, 4.4 APG, and 2.2 RPG in 25.4 minutes of action for Chicago over the previous regular season, I'm not sure how he fits on the Nuggets or why the front office would want to make such a move. Foye and Lawson are already going to be defensively challenged at the point guard position, and Nate Robinson does little to address that. He's an athletic, explosive player to be sure, but his skillset is largely redundant behind Lawson and Foye.

With the trade of Kosta Koufos and Timofey Mozgov still unsigned, the front office of the Nuggets seems to want to further downsize the roster with Nate Robinson. What would Nate Robinson's signing mean for the Nuggets and how Brian Shaw plans to implement his system?

Stay tuned...
