For those who don't know, Masai got his start as an assistant GM in Toronto under Bryan Colangelo. He's also currently the lowest-paid GM in the NBA. The Raptors, owned by MLSE, have pretty deep pockets and are going to be willing to pay for what they want. Kroenke's going to be hard-pressed to match, given his history. But this team and everything that's been built could very easily fall apart under someone else's watch. Masai has shown that he knows what he's doing. Losing him would be a pretty devastating hit for a franchise on the rise. If there's one position where they really need to ante up, it's here.
