Hey All,
Big NBA fan here and I'm starting up a new blog and a new weekly feature called "Junkie Fix". This is for NBA junkies with League Pass. I pick three games every week that won't be broadcasted nationally that I won't be missing. One of them will be:
Houston at Denver—Wednesday, 9:00 PM ET
Let’s start here: these are the two fastest teams in the league in terms of pace, per Hoopdata. They play fast and love transition buckets. Personally, these are two of my favorite League Pass teams, so it only makes sense that this game be marked on the calendar this week.
Denver has defeated Houston in their two meetings this season and is 10-3 in the month of January. Conversely, Houston is having a tough month. Their scoring is down, almost eight points from last month. But six of their eight loses in January have come on the road, and they’ve held a positive point differential despite their bumps in the road.
I’ll be watching closely the Lawson/Lin matchup. Lawson has, to put it lightly, outperformed Lin in their last two meetings. If Lin can’t keep him out of the paint, he probably won’t be able to if we’re being honest with ourselves, the weight will fall on Omer Asik’s shoulders, who will have a hard enough time grabbing defensive boards before the Manimal snatches them away.
Oh, did I mention that James Harden, Kenneth Faried, and especially JaVale McGee(!) will be playing in this game?
