With Wilson Chandler now back and more than capable of taking Corey Brewer's role. Lets trade Corey Brewer, Timofey Mozgov, and Jordan Hamilton (I just think his max is probably what Wilson Chandler is now, I feel bad for him sitting on our bench, maybe he can get some time with another team).
It's certainly not a big time trade, but it's more about not letting value walk away or having the need to sign them to contracts where we can replace them with rookie contracts instead. We have two players that can become free agents in Corey Brewer and Timofey Mozgov both who could help the Rockets in this situation and at the same time would have more limited roles with the Nuggets. With trading Jordan Hamilton, it's the idea that it will take a long time before he gets into the Nuggets rotation with this roster, in that sense it's like trading him directly for a future draft pick to take his spot (who has more basketball IQ).
What we would get out of this trade mainly is Terrence Jones. During his time in Kentucky and over the summer league as well as the preseason, he has shown a lot of promise. He's a big guy (quite built) who could play either the 3 or 4 spot on both ends of the floor. He is has enough handle to drive to the basket, he has a few post up moves, he can shoot the 3 ball, and is a very solid defender for someone that young. The rest of the players are more fillers (Royce White may never end up playing in the NBA), and Cole Aldrich is the definition of a stiff. One more key point is that long term this may save us money as Brewer and Mozgov can easily command a salary bigger than what they're already making.
