We can have Derrick Williams

For those of you that don't know, the 3 stooges of the nba are attempting to make a trade with the fate of the #2 pick in the balance. Here is the link http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2011/news/story?id=6603100 . In essence cleveland uses the trade exception from Lebron to absorb rip's contract and the #8 pick. Then they shuttle that pick along with their #4 pick to minny for the #2 pick. Why David Kahn wants to trade down in a weak draft is something even Sherlock Holmes couldn't figure out.

How can this benefit Denver? While Cleveland is the ambitious one and Minny is the stupid one, Detroit is the greedy one. While they do want to ditch rip's contract, they want some compensation back considering they'll be ditching a lottery pick. Unfortunately for Cleveland, there is another team in the NBA, that has a trade exception left from a parting star, and way more assets than them too.

Here's my rewrite of the story, we offer to use our large trade exception to absorb Rip's contract along with the #8 pick, and we compensate detroit with the #22 pick, maybe koufas, and even a 2nd round pick or 2 since we have extra. If the FO is determined to win a championship as they say they are, they can buyout rip later and there's no excuse considering NY gifted us 3million.

Now we can stop here and use that pick on Bismack Biyombo who is very raw but talented, or we can call up Kahn for that #2 pick which he seems overly excited to part with. We can offer him that #8 pick and Raymond Felton for the #2 pick. Maybe a certain Knicks #1 if necessary to sweeten the pot. Why would Kahn do this? They have no need for a pf considering they have love. After a breakout season in NY Felton put up near all star stats, and would have a larger impact for the wolves than anything they could get out of the draft, and Kahn needs the team to improve any way possible if he still wants a job, and he'd get the #8 pick to play with. With that pick, we draft Derrick Williams and officially have a young talented player at all 5 positions. WIth a need at backup pg, we can resign Jr who seemed very adept at running the point, and a veteran on the free agency market. What do you guys think should the nuggets enact this plan to get the #2 pick?
