The Staples Center is pathetic

Hello fellow Stiffs, been a long time reader, but never posted anything on this site before. Just wanted to share my first experience at the Staples Center yesterday.

I have seen the Nuggs and Lakers play in the Pepsi Center on several occasions (one of them being game 4 of the 2009 Western Conference championship), and the Nuggs are 4-0 in those games, and now I am 1-0 at Staples Center. So feel free to invite me to the next Nuggets vs. Lakers game if you have a ticket to spare because apparently my Laker voo-doo dolls work very well. Anyways, onto the point of this post...

Everything you hear about the so-called fans that go to be seen at see the Laker games is true...

I was wearing my baby blue JR 5 jersey, and I only had 4 Laker fans say anything to me. 2 of those were Staples Center employees. Pathetic.

The one time I opened my mouth about the officiating, the guy next to me was seriously trying to argue that a foul should have been called on Ty after Derek Fisher just about shoved him into the paint. Pathetic.

Anyone who has seen a Nuggs, Lakers game at the Pepsi Center knows that close to half the arena will be rooting for the Lakers, and I swear that those fans, comprising half the Pepsi Center are at least 10x louder than a full Staples Center. Pathetic.

I didn't think fans could get any worse than Charger fans at Qualcomm, but the Staples Center found a way to do it. In the hungover state rush that I was in leaving San Diego at 10 in the morning, I forgot to DVR the game, but I am still really curious to find out if the Staples Center was as quiet on TV as it was in real life. Did anyone else notice this or am I blinded (or deafened) by my bias?

Anyways... Rant over. It was a great experience to see the Nuggets play somewhere other than Denver. We came out on top in a well-deserved, albeit ugly win against a tough team, and it made me really appreciate the fans we have in Denver.

GO NUGGS!!!!
