The latest media ramblings indicate that it indeed will be NY Knicks or bust for Melo, and that all other sign and trade options are off of the table (if they ever even existed). So now the Nugs are stuck in a situation where they either ride out the storm and let him walk for nothing, if he is willing to take a big pay cut, trade him to NY for a limited return, or trade him as a rental to a contender, also for a limited return. Visions of Favors, at least two 1st rounders, and whatever coming our way have been dashed.

So, why are we here? Was NJ ever really an option? If it was, who screwed it up? I'd like to see what all of the fine folks here (plus NY or NJ fans, if they want to chime in) think.
