Nene Too?

I don't understand the rumors I'm reading about Nene potentially being moved.

I've got my mind around the idea of Melo leaving. If the ultimate goal is holding up the trophy, I even support it. I love Melo and respect what he's contributed to the Nugs success in the 2000's. I'm not sure he brings a championship though. But do you blow up the team to move forward? I wouldn't pretend to undersand all the front office nuances and salary shell games that go on. But looking at this situation from afar, it stinks. My thoughts: 1) Nene is breaking out. He may never reach his potential but he's continuing to develop and his numbers would only iimprove if he became a primary option. 2) Even at 11M, he is a pretty good deal. He is one of the top 5 in his position in the league. 3) What's the point in dumping salary if all you're left with his second tier players and rookies? What free agent is going to want to step into that and how much of the freed up cap space will you need to sign them? 4) Continuity is important. I survived seeing the Nugs blown up a few times. It's ugly. It's brutal. And I'm not sure it was worth it. How long did it take to climb out of the Paul Westhead "era"? Maybe these rumors are just more internet speculation. I would like to see the Nuggets come out of this with Nene on the roster. And I would hope AAA and Ty Lawson. If you couple that core with solid value from a Melo trade (let's hope), a couple top-tier FA's, and a couple strong drafts, we may not need to suffer. Perhaps Denver won't end up with another superstar like Melo in this scenerio but maybe 5 or 6 very good players gets the Nuggets further (see Detroit Pistons). Go Nugs!
