As long as I have been posting on this site I have been calling for the Bird to be limited in his minutes. For every crowd pleasing dunk, there is an equally disturbing missed assignment/out muscling on defense. For every amazing block and rebound there are at least two bites on head fakes. I really like what our FO has done with our depth, and I am positive that it will help us (especially this season). I have also been watching Koufas know his place on the court. Granted many of the minutes he played in preseason (except for the last Phoenix game) and the season before were garbage minutes. I have been reading that he has a high Basketball I.Q. he has a soft touch when he is fed in the paint, and is an underrated defender. I guess my question is, why is it that Bird is eating the minutes that Koufas rightfully deserves? I like the hustle that Faried brings, but in the games I have seen him in, he looks lost (hopefully that will be cured with time and experience). I am not calling for Koufas to get 30+ minutes a game, not even 15+ I just want to see what he can do in place or beside the Bird. I know Koufas will play more throughout the season, I just want to see that happen sooner rather than later. Maybe I am crazy, but I always want what is best for the Nuggets, and I could be totally wrong, but seeing is believing.
