So tonight we take the jump into what should be an interesting season to say the least. Sure, sure, it is only the first of our two preseason games, but every game, and scrimmage, matters to our beloved team as they begin the road to a perfect 2-0 preseason and eventually a 66-0 season.
This is what I am taking from tonight's game:
1. Karl gets to experiment right away with his beloved two PG lineup by starting both Lawson AND Dre Miller. I, for one, hope that he realizes we have a pretty deep team right away and goes to a more conventional lineup now that AAA re-signed.
2. US fans get to see what Mozgov has in store for us, as well as our other big men and Nene playing Power Forward.
3. Karl will hopefully get the rookies some burn tonight so that they can show him what they are made of. Yeah, I know Faried, henceforth known as Manimal, played under Karl in the intra-squad scrimmage and got a lot of playing time, but we will find out tonight ho\\if his energy has moved GK or not.
4. We get to see a team, that was once known as a competitor in the West, and get a feel for how our team will stack up against two players that don't seem to age.
All in all, I do not expect this to be a hard fought game, but rather a game to see how Karl feels with all the different players on our roster, which has got to be around 20 by now, and how well they all play together. I expect nothing less than a win, but would not be disappointed with a blowout.
Here are what I expect the starting lineups to be:
Denver- Lawson, Miller, Gallo, Nene, Mozgov
Phoenix- Nash, Brown(could be Dudley), Hill, Frye, and Gortat
