Mark Kizla's Post column saying don't pay what it takes to re-sign Nene is dead wrong. Three reasons: 1) around the league Nene is ranked one, two or three among free agents (Affalo is in top 10); 2) young Nuggets leadership will lose their credibility and attendance will drop sharply if they do not spend money they have in hand to put the best team possible on the floor; 3) signing Nene and Affalo is critical to re-signing other talented young players due for renewal soon and attracting free agents in highly competitive marketplace. Why go to all the trouble to put yourself among the few teams in the league with major cap room and then refuse to spend the money to retain your best talent and your credibility at home and around the league. Answer: there is no reason. Let's go for it!
