Simply Put... DON'T!

Carmelo Anthony wants out of Denver. If that's his intention then let it be, but not until his contract expires.

I know the natural response when talking about this is to execute a sign-and-trade, but I say we do the exact opposite. Let Melo opt-out and become a free agent under the new CBA... good luck buddy! If he thinks leaving Denver is best for him and his family, then so be it. The Nuggets organization and Melo owe each other nothing. It has been great having him here, and we paid him amply for it, but the organization and the fans should let him walk into the wild a free agent.

If Melo doesn't want to stay here then we will give it one last shot this year without attempting to rebuild. Obviously we won't be able to win it all with the roster we currently have, but what we will gain is huge amounts of cap space and Melo will lose tons. In light of today's news I'm GREAT with this result. Not only will the Nuggets have nearly 40 million in cap space, but Melo will never again see a contract as good as the one we offered him. You want to make 21 million a year, well it's Nuggets or bust buddy! Once the CBA goes through he'll be lucky to make 15 and lets not even begin to mention what or fun details will await him. Apparently that's what he thinks is best for him and his family, so be it.

Going into a possible lockout with minimum money on the books is a great thing. Kroenke will save millions and the organization will have sh** loads of money for free agency. Consider the possibilities of going into 2012-13 with 40 million for free agency and having saved the same amount if a lockout happens. Draft picks... we have enough. I think we all know how well the draft works for the Nuggets (excluding Melo and Ty). I would rather have the money for free agency and stick it to the apparently childish Melo were it really hurts, the wallet.

Kroenke do everyone a favor and tell "Worldwide" Wes, Leon Rose, and the rest of the a**holes at CAA where they can stick it. If there is anything to know about Denver sports fans, it's that we are in it for the long hall and I would rather we make a stand against all of these recent childish antics then fold like a deck of cards. Andrew and Nate, feel free to bump you know who to the top of the stiff's list.
