Eric Dampier is being shipped to the Bobcats who will most likely waive his $13 million dollar, ungauranteed contract.  They may keep him in the short term in case another trade opportunity opens itself up, but once he is released, he could probably be had for a portion of the mid-level and a two-year deal.  With multiple big men, Dalles will more than likely not be a landing spot for him after being waved.

Dampier is a tough defensive center who has shown the ability to get up and down the court on an uptempo Dallas squad.  He would fit nicely next to Nene in the starting lineup, guarding the tough big men and allowing Nene to play his natural position of power forward.  This could be a nice short-term solution to our big man problems...thoughts?
