This is my first post here at denver stiffs. I was thinking about what the Nuggets SHOULD do this off season. It might be a bit unrealistic but it is possible so bare with me. Here it goes...
1. The Horents have at least thought about moving Chris Paul due to rebuilding and cost cutting. With Darren Collison on the bench they have the ability to do this if they choose to. The Nuggets could offer them Kenyon Martin and his expiring contract, possibly JR Smith and his expiring contract (I know they already had him but he is an expiring contract they could put up with him for a year) and Chauncey Billups as he has the ability to opt out after next year. This gives them 3 expiring contracts and some talent as well. We could also throw in a first round pick. In return we would get Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor and James Posey (if the hornets trade Chris Paul they would want somebody to take on Okafor and Poseys contract and it would give us a big man in return). The reason the Hornets do this is to get some expiring contracts so they have some wiggle room financially next summer and they get a draft pick to rebuild. If they would not take JR i would throw in Nene instead but ideally we would trade JR.
2. We sign Mike Miller to replace JR.
3. We trade Ty Lawson for David Lee in a sign and trade. The Knicks apparently inquired about Lawson when there was rumors of him being available. This would give us another big man and them a point guard for the future. With adding Chris Paul we would have the ability to deal Lawson.
4. We sign Scottie Reynolds since he went undrafted to play backup point.
This leaves us with a lineup of:
PG: Chris Paul, Scottie Reynolds, Anthony Carter
SG: AAA, Mike Miller, Coby Karl
SF: Melo, James Posey, Joey Graham
PF: David Lee, Nene, Renaldo Balkman
C: Emeka Okafor, Birdman, Johan Petro
Again i know this is somewhat unrealistic but it is possible as the contracts all that matchup. Also, this is my first post so don't go to hard on me just something i thought of and kind of wanted to share and see what people thought of the idea. So any thoughts?
