Keep George Karl as head coach, HIRE MIKE BROWN as assistant coach, who surely will let go by the Cavs soon.

I don't really know what AD's "contribution" is to the Nuggets bench, so if we have to make room for Mike Brown, then fire AD.

Why?

Mike Brown is a defensive guru. He will be our defensive coach like Tom Thibodeau is in Boston.

I do think both Tom Thibodeau and Mike Brown are clones... they are a great defensive coach, but don't have the offensive minds to be a head coach.

But as assistants? They're terrific. Look at how far Boston goes despite their so-called age. When the moment comes, they know how to play as a team. The bonding part is their defense. Playing together comes from playing defense together.

However, if we keep the coaching staff as it is, our defense will forever be "good" in a 10 game stretch, "bad" in a 15 game stretch, "matador like" in other games, etc. It will be inconsistent. We have to have a specialized "department" that focuses on that defensive department, like Rivers can focus on the players' focus and direction... and let Thibodeau focus on the defensive game plan.

Karl is very much like Rivers... clueless defensively. That's why they have to have a great ally who can help them in their weak department. Only difference is Doc actually did it and got Thibodeau as his assistant, and Karl didn't... What is AD for?

An extra is: Mike Brown used to be the video guy for Denver Nuggets, so he will be back to the environment he is familiar with.
