Why won't Nuggets fans put more blame on Smooth?

I am a park hill native myself, and a diehard Nugs fan. Everything that is being posted is correct, but I have one huge concern that is not being addressed at all. Why does Chauncey continuously shoot threes so early in the shot clock? When he comes down and drains one everybody is quick to cheer, but just like the jumpers Kmart hit early in the season, they are not smart basketball plays. He is supposed to be the experienced veteran leader, the court general, the extension of George on the floor. Night-in and night-out Chauncey makes critical mistakes that Denver fans are unwilling to point out. Fans here place him on this pedestal and that he can do no wrong. On the same note, let's talk about defense. The Nuggets switch on D way too often, which always ends up biting us in the a**. I know he can't help it but Chauncey has lost a significant step. He is too slow to defend almost any point in the league. When Ty Lawson is in the game, he has the speed and the WILLINGNESS to fight through screens, Smooth plain and simply does not. The pick and roll kills the Nuggets for a lot of reasons, but the reason that really starts the trouble is Chauncey switching when he doesn't have to. He is physical and strong... fight through some screens and use that size. Sorry for rambling... oh and by the way Bird is the worst one on one defender I have ever seen. Get rid of him, he's useless except for putting butts in the seats.

All that being said, I have full faith in our boys. Get it done Nuggs!
