NBA scheduling plot against our Nugs? No

I have read various times on this blog that the Nuggets have had the most back to backs in the NBA this season. According to bleacher report this just simply isnt the case. Not only that, there is no evidence that our schedule was particularly difficult.

This season Detroit, Charlotte, and Chicago lead the league with 23 back to backs. Its true we have 22, but so do the following teams. Atlanta, Houston, Indiana, LA Clippers and Milwaukee.  Not necessarily the NBA elite, I know, but look what happens when you factor playing teams when they are on a back to back. I will use a + - formula.

The Nugs have 22 back to backs on their schedule this year. On the other hand, play against teams playing their second game on a back to back 24 times. Lets call that a +2. A slight advantage.

Looking at the other good teams :

Portland = -5

OK City = -4

San Antonio = +3

Houston = -4

Phoenix = +3

Utah = +4

Dallas = +1

Boston = -3

Cleveland = +3

Orlando = +1

and the Lakers?? = -11

Its very difficult to claim the Nuggets have been the victim of some plot by the NBA schedule makers. No, impossible. The facts just arent there. Now, if you want to cry bad refs? You can, but thats for other posts. The fact remains, our schedule is right in the middle when it comes to back to back games, when including the advantage of playing teams when they are on a back to back. Just some food for thought.
