I never understood why people were slurping the Mavs so much. They make a trade for Butler and Haywood and suddenly people think they were the team to beat in the west (outside of the Fakers) Then they went on a 13 game winning streak against a majority of patsies and even I was getting nervous. Then....

....the New Jersey Nets came in an showed us that Dallas is still Dallas. While the Nets didn't win the game, they came damn close....IN DALLAS. The very next game they lost to the Knicks at home...and their streak was broken.

Now...Dallas has enough patsies left on their schedule to challenge for the second (and maybe first) seed in the West with the Nuggets, but lets not proclaim them a "scary" team anymore. I've long said that as long as their offense runs primarily through Dirk they will be a "soft" team. Dirk will get his points, but they STILL are not a diverse offensive team. Haywood is a big guy....that's about it. Terry is injured...Kidd is old...Marion is old and should get some counseling from Hair Club for Men

I'm not proclaiming the Nuggets a lock to seal up the second or first seed. All I'm saying is look at the Mavs....think of Kenyon shoving Dirk to the ground....and smile to yourselves....they are still that team
