Re-Thinking a Knicks Trade

With Wilson Chandler emerging emerging as one of the best small forwards in the Eastern Conference, should the Nuggets reconsider their current position that the Knicks have nothing to offer? Chandler is proving to be a terrific all-around small forward, with great range and athletic ability, and happens to play the same position as Melo. To me, he is going to be the type of small forward the Nuggets will pursue in free agency if Melo leaves, so why not trade for him? A package of Chandler, Landry Fields and Curry's expiring contract, gives the Nuggets their small forward of the future, depth in the backcourt (Fields can really play), and cap space this summer. If the Knicks can throw-in a first round pick (that they will acquire for Randolph), don't the Nuggets have to give this deal some serious consideration?

I am still in the "play the season out with Melo" camp, but if a trade is forced by Melo early February, I like the idea of adding Chandler to the young mix of Ty, AAA, JR, and Nene. Galinari reminds me too much of Skita to go after him. What do you think?
