First of all I wrote this as a comment, but I think it's deserving of a fanpost.

Melo also said something kind of scary yesterday after the game.

He was asked if he’d sign in New Jersey and he answered, “I’m signing the extension wherever I’m traded to” (something like that at least. They way I see it is that he would rather be anywhere else but here, he knows he won’t be traded somewhere he does not want to be, or that he will only sign the extension and won’t risk being a FA (which could actually for Denver b/c then we call his bluff and don’t trade him, forcing him to sign the extension in Denver or lose money as a FA).

but pretty scary that now Ujiri and Melo are so up front about it all know. Earlier they would both deny and walk around a true answer, but if they’re being so blunt, it means that a trade is coming soon, which I’d hate to see (I’m in the group, or maybe alone, that thinks we shouldn’t trade Melo and he’ll the extension if he’s still here after the deadline).
