Story out of ESPN, reported by Bill Sheridan, Melo has told the Nuggets front office that he only will sign any extension if he gets traded to NY. He will not sign an extension if traded to any other team. He is willing to play out the season or sign and trade to NY. The trade will most likely happen in January before the deadline. The trade that NY is willing to give up is D Galinari, Curry's expiring contract, Fields and a #1 pick. The #1 pick will be from A Randolph being traded to Houston for the pick. If Denver doesn't accept the trade then Melo will play out the season for a sign and trade of Curry's expiring , #1 pick and a trade exemption. Like I posted before the season, its NY or bust. Melo controls his own destiny.
