Billups is the cause for the losses this season

He has been taking the worst shots and turning over the ball at the worst times. It is unfair that he gets no criticism just because he's Billups. Yes. He was great two seasons ago but he is not the player he used to be as of now. He has been taking the "old JR" type of shots all the time. At least JR would make some.

In the Chicago game last night he randomly turned the ball over when the Nuggets could have tied it late in the fourth and has been constantly unable to even make a simple post-entry pass. He turned over at least two, I think three in the Pacers game that is on right now.

It is unacceptable that the starting PG of the Nuggets, a team filled with great offensive players, averages under 5 assists and 11 field goal attempts at a 35.1 percentage. His three point shot or any shot besides his free throw is clearly off yet he continues to try and be "MR BIG SHOT" and will just toss up bricks when the Nuggets desperately need one to stop a run or blow a game up.

I think Billups needs to be traded or have his minutes severely cut in order for the Nuggets to start winning giving us a shot at keeping Melo. Honestly JR would run the point better. He has been playing great this season and has yet to make any terrible decisions from what I've seen. He's mostly looking to pass the ball and executes the pick and roll best on the team. Billups' minutes are supposed to be taken down to save him for the postseason anyways since he played in the world championships.

I feel like there is a lack of criticism towards Billups on this blog even though he clearly is the reason that the Nuggets are struggling at the moment. He is a sub-par SG trying to play PG. The Nuggets have too strong a backcourt to be forced to play Billups as much as he has been. I honestly think the Nuggets would be a DRASTICALLY better team if Billups was just benched and JR, Lawson, Afflalo, and Forbes shared his minutes.
