I am a huge Melo fan, but also have come to terms it is probably over in Denver. Rumors are circling of almost any team is in the Melo sweepstakes. Everyone except New York (ironically the city starting all the rumors) has a shot. So, what about this trade:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=27cpmnq
New Jersey Gets: Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kapono
Phillidelphia gets: Troy Murphy, Kris Humphries
Den Gets: Andre Iguodala, Derrick Favors
Why New Jersey does it: Carmelo, obviously. Plus a florr spacing 3-point sniper in Kapono (with an expiring contract)
Why Philidelphia does it: Cap relief. If the team is to rebuild, it needs to dump some of their larger contracts. Nobody is going to take Elton Brand off thier hands.
Why Denver does it: Did anyone see AI play in the World Championships? Plus he will make up most of hte scoring load left by Melo. Favors will be a beast, this season.
Any thoughts?
Also, this is my first post.
