The Future...

While the rest of the world has been confused and astounded over how an average Indiana Pacers team could light up a very good Nuggets team for 54 points in the 3rd quarter, I have been taking positives out of the moments of watchable Nuggets basketball.

I continue to be reminded how the Nuggets do have a very bright future past Chauncey and (possibly) Carmelo. We have a great young group of guys slowly coming to the forefront of the roster.

Ty Lawson - All of us on Denver Stiffs should now by now that Ty will be the future of the franchise. And so far this season he hasn't made those days very enviable. But it seems that he may have gotten himself out of his sophomore slump (that he was displaying in full form so far this season) in the forth quarter of the Pacers game & hopefully he will start to have the season that we know he should be having this year.

Arron Afflalo - During training camp, preseason and most of this season so far, Arron has been nothing short of the leading MIP (Most Improved Player) candidate and a future cornerstone for the Nuggets. Much like Ty, Arron seemed to have found himself in a bit of a mini slump during the last few games, but he also appeared to be back into a good rhythm in the 4th quarter of the last game.

Shelden Williams - Even though he is a bit older than the other "future" guys, he is still young and very fresh due to his lack of PT through the course of his so far mediocre career. But so far Shelden seems to have found his home in Denver, when he looks for his shot and crashes the boards he could be a great/solid performer for the Nuggets for years to come. Now we just have to stop GK cutting his minutes for no apparent reason.

Gary Forbes - I've said it once and I'll say it again, The kid can ball. Gary so far, in his limited minutes, has shown why he deserves to be in this league (and it's great for us that he is doing it with the Nuggets). Hustle, great work-ethic and some great skills and natural talent, I just love everything about him. (I'm gonna go out on a limb here) He may just be the answer to our Carmelo Anthony situation, I think he can be that good.

J.R. Smith - Some of may think JR shouldn't be on the team anymore and some of you may think he isn't the future, he's had his chance, but he has finally done what we have wanted for years. He has changed his ways. Now a good defender, more controlled offensively, passing, playing team ball. JR deserves a new contract if he keeps it up and I think he may be one more 40+ point/Double Digit 3 game away from getting it.

And as I've already said today about our current situation and record... We'll Be Fine, We'll Be Back.

Believe Me.
