Trade to stay competitive

Over the last couple of weeks we have heard a lot about trade Ideas between Denver and New Jersey and it seems to be the only way to make it happen is in a 4 team trade. Although it has proved to be harder than it sounds

Here is a trade that works for all four teams and keeps Denver competitive while getting good return for our star

What we know :

  • New Jersey wants Melo and Melo wants to leave Denver (New Jersey an option)
  • Denver wants a good deal
  • Other teams want involved mainly to get Harris
  • Four team trades aren't easy

Now the trade

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2f3uave

Denver gets Andre Iguodala, derrick Favors, Terrence Williams, GS 1st
Trades Carmelo Anthony, Renaldo Balkman
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atlanta gets Devin Harris, Andres Nocioni, Renaldo Balkman
Trades Jamal Crawford, Mike Bibby, Jeff Teague (or Jordan Crawford), future 1st
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Philly gets Jamal Crawford, Jeff Teague/Crawford, Kris Humphries, ATL 1st,
Trades Iguodala, Nocioni
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jersey gets Carmelo Anthony, Mike Bibby
Trades Favors,Williams, Harris,Humphries,GS 1st

I think we do this to stay competitive for this year even though it doesn't reduce salary at all but the future looks good also. ATL would love to get Harris even if it means taking on bad contracts because they would compete with the eastern elite. Denver wants Iguodala but philly doesn't want to deal him unless they get Melo but hopefully getting expiring contracts and dumping salary will convince them. And if the other 3 teams want it to happen im sure they would part with picks and cash. NJ might be hesitant to give up so much because it leaves them a bit short but Humphries could easily get bought out

leaves us looking like this

Nene/S. Williams/ Bird
Kmart/Favors/Bird
Harrington/Smith
Iggy/Afflalo/T.Williams
Billups/Lawson

Good for a 5-7 seed this season and sorted for the future with expiring deals/ trade pieces. Deep at all positions with guys who can cover multiple positions
