George Karl on Jim Rome

GK and Jim chat about the Nuggets current position

I listened to on my lunch break today, but I can't seem to find a link yet. When I do I'll post it, or if you beat me to it feel free. Here's the nutshell version. When asked about Chauncey's forthright comments on AI getting an All-Star nod, Karl said "Chauncey is the best point gaurd in the West right now. Ask Nash, Paul, and Williams, Chauncey is playing maybe the best offense he ever has." Karl attributed the "best offense" to his 2 pg line up with CB1 and LAWson.

Jim then asked about JR's "eclectic" behavior. GK's response "I'ts probably my fault, for not communicating with him like I should, my coaches not communicating like they should. I really like JR. Some people may not see it but I really like the kid. We had a long talk on Monday, probably the longest we've ever had. We cleared the air between us and I think it really helped. He hit some big shots in last night's game and we may not have won without him."

Romey then asked about Karl's contract extension and Coby Karl's career. "The next contract I sign [might be it] for me. I want it to be in the city I will retire in, and I would love it if it was Denver..." "He's (Coby) the most efficient player in the D-League right now, based on some formula they have (+/-). He's like about 20-30 other guys who are talented enough to play in the NBA, but not lucky enough to get picked up by a team."

It was a pretty nice interview, Karl didn't spew any of his Karl-isms, and really didn't mince words when 'bragging' about his players. I don't think Rome will have today's show ready to link to until tomorrow. Like I said I'll try and get it for you guys and gals.
