Arron Afflalo

The more and more I watch this guy the more and more I think of Trevor Ariza and his role for the Lakers last year. As we all know, Ariza did a fair job on Carmelo, while he hit some very crucial 3 pointers to help the Lakers not only win our series but also the NBA Championship. I'm beginning to believe that we don't need J.R. anymore, and this year could be our year if we trade him somewhere for a legit big guy. The only difference between the two is that Ariza is 6'8 while Afflalo is 6'5, and Ariza could play more of a SF, where Afflalo is best at SG. Last year on the Laker's championship run, Ariza played about 25 minutes per game, averaging about 9 ppg while shooting just 32% from 3. Afflalo on the other hand, is averaging 25 minutes per game, averaging 9 ppg, while shooting an astounding 45% from 3 this year. He's a serious weapon to reckon with. All I'm saying is that Afflalo is our best SG, better than Smith, and that with another big guy, I believe that we could get over the hump. Also, something that worries me is that he's going to want some more money after this year, more than his dinky 2 mil that he's due next year. I'm really liking the young mold of this team, and with a future starting lineup of Lawson, Afflalo, Melo, Nene, and another big, we're going to be tough for the next decade.
